Our Certifications

Fairtrade exists to put the spotlight on farmers who are left invisible in a complex supply chain. Fairtrade sets a minimum price for cotton that is above the market price, to improve farmers' income. On top of that, Fairtrade premiums are given to villages for investments in schools, infrastructure, and other social improvements. On the environmental front, Fairtrade bans genetically modified seeds, hazardous agrochemicals, while providing training to farmers for better farming practices. Fairtrade empowers farmers, through financial support and capacity building, for the benefit of their whole community.

Supporting Fairtrade means helping those who need it the most.

Dedicated is certified GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards). It is the world’s leading certification for organic textiles. First, the cotton must be certified to an organic production standard that is approved in the IFOAM Family of Standards. GOTS' main focus is then to audit all the manufacturing steps against strict environmental and social requirements. Factories can only use approved chemicals, must track their use of water, waste, and their carbon emissions, and wet processing factories must be equipped with a water treatment plant. GOTS also inspects the factories against strict social criteria, ensuring safe working conditions, no discrimination, and no child labor.

For a garment to be labeled GOTS, it must contain at least 70% organic cotton and cannot be mixed with conventional fibers. The majority of our cotton garments are GOTS-certified.

Since 2023 we buy Regenerative Organic Certified® cotton. This new certification puts a framework on the ancient regenerative agriculture practices, with the main goal of ensuring that the soil regenerates over time. Regenerative Organic Certified® builds on organic requirements with principles ensuring the regeneration of soils, animal welfare, and farmers' social empowerment. Regenerative agriculture has been around for hundreds of years and is still used by indigenous communities around the world, adapting the practices to the local ecosystems. The outcomes can be: more carbon sequestration, better biodiversity conservation, water conservation, and many more.

There's also an emphasis on social justice, since the program can help the farmers claim a higher price for their crops and raise awareness in the industry.
