BIONIC-FINISH® ECO
The description of many of our outerwear items says BIONIC-FINISH® ECO, with a water column of 3000 mm. BIONIC-FINISH® ECO is a water-repellent coating that, unlike many other water-repellent products, is completely free from harmful chemicals such as fluorocarbons, formaldehyde, and paraffin. These chemical groups take a long time for nature to break down. BIONIC-FINISH® ECO is also biodegradable, making this coating a better option from an environmental perspective.
The difference between water-repellent & waterproof:
Our jackets, as mentioned above, have a water-repellent coating. This means that our outerwear helps prevent water from penetrating, while waterproof garments stop it completely.
What does 'Water Column' mean?
The water column is a measurement used to indicate the level of waterproofness of a material, i.e., how much water pressure the material can withstand before it starts to let moisture through. Many of our winter jackets have a water column of 3000 mm, which means that the material is water-repellent and can handle light to moderate rain for a period of time.
